Who We Are

A Greater Dayton doula collective, rooted in the families we serve.

Chattams Rooted Care Collective is a Greater Dayton-based, community-centered doula practice rooted in equity, education, advocacy, and whole-family support.

We support families through pregnancy, birth and the postpartum season with education, advocacy, and care that honors who they are — and we connect them with the people and resources that help them thrive.

Our Mission

Provide culturally affirming, community-based doula support that nurtures healthy, empowered families.

Our Vision

Communities where every family has the support, resources, and care they deserve — helping underserved communities lower infant mortality rates and raise healthy, thriving families.

Our Core Values

Six commitments that shape every visit, every conversation, every birth

  • I

    Compassion

We meet every family with warmth and patience, wherever they are in their journey.

  • II

    Community

Care is stronger when it is rooted in the neighborhoods and relationships families already trust.

  • III

    Equity & Access

Every family deserves quality support — we work to remove the barriers that stand in the way.

  • IV

    Cultural Humility

We listen first, honor each family’s traditions, and keep learning from the people we serve.

  • V

    Advocacy

We help families understand their options and make sure their voices are heard.

  • VI

    Whole-Family Care

Partners, children and loved ones are part of the circle of support, too.

Our Philosophy

Community-based doula care

Community-based doula care means support that comes from — and stays within — the community. It is care that understands the realities families live with, and the strengths they already have.

We walk alongside families from the first weeks of pregnancy through the months after birth: teaching, listening, advocating, and connecting them with the resources they need.

We don’t replace medical care. We complement it — helping families feel informed, prepared, and heard in every conversation with their healthcare team.
